What a wonderful response we have received from the BCS families! (If you haven’t sent in your labels yet, it’s not too late.) Thank you so much for your support. Do reinforce to your friends and family what a wonderful cause they are supporting. They are not just giving to help us with the purchase of a P.A. system and replacement of classroom floors. They are giving to support the child who asked them to, which is so encouraging to that child. And most of all, their gifts will allow God’s work to continue here, and will help families who feel convicted to provide Christian education for their children but find it difficult financially. These gifts are going to change young hearts and lives--an eternal investment!
School closing
School will be closed on Monday, October 13 in observance of Columbus Day.
Tuition
Just a reminder that October tuition payments are due on the 1st. Late fees will be assessed on the 10th.
Wendy’s Night
Mark your calendar and plan to have dinner with us at Wendy’s in Bridgeton on Tuesday, October 14.
This is a great time for our school families to get together and enjoy a time of fellowship, and the school will receive a portion of the proceeds from all sales between 5:00 and 8:00 p.m. (If you don’t have time for a leisurely dinner, make a quick trip through the drive-through - we’ll receive credit for those sales as well.) We look forward to seeing you there!
Mid-term
First marking period mid-term is next Friday, October 3. Mid-term reports will be sent home with students in grades 1-8 on Thursday, October 9.

Dress code
As cooler weather approaches, we’d like to remind you that students are permitted to wear a plain, long-sleeved, navy cardigan in class. Cardigans may button or zip up the front. No other outerwear may be worn in the building during regular school hours.
Dress Down Day cards
Please note that Dress Down Day cards will be issued at the end of each month. Students may use their cards on the first and third Fridays of each month.
Church update
Throughout the year we like to keep in touch with the churches represented by our school families. Please help us update our list by completing the attached form and returning it to us as soon as possible. Thanks!
Fall Dessert Table
It’s time for you to get out your favorite fall dessert recipes and start baking for our Fall Dessert Table on Saturday, October 4! Don’t forget that baking three desserts and/or working to sell the desserts throughout the day will help you earn tuition rebate credits. We've attached a work schedule based on the responses we've received so far, and you'll see that there are still several time slots available. Please consider how you can help, complete the sign-up sheet, and return it to us as soon as possible. Thanks so much!
A few reminders
We’ve found that cupcakes, muffins, and plain breads don’t sell as well as other items, but the following is a list of some items that have been popular in the past. Because we will be using hard plastic containers, icing will not be a problem - so feel free to "ice" away!
Pies
Pumpkin or Apple Desserts
Cobblers
Crisps
Pumpkin rolls
Apple cakes
Please be sure to label your items, particularly if they are unique, sugar free, or name-recognized, i.e. Paula Dean, Tastefully Simple.
